CATL Establishes Middle East’s Largest New Energy Aftermarket Ecosystem in Riyadh
  • CATL inaugurates the Middle East’s first NING SERVICE Experience Center in Riyadh, now the largest new energy aftermarket facility outside China.
  • The center delivers end-to-end lifecycle after-sales services, strengthens local technical capabilities, and supports the rollout of advanced electrification and energy storage solutions.
  • It also serves as a regional collaboration platform, connecting industry stakeholders to enable sustainable growth and industrial integration.

CATL has officially opened the Middle East’s first and currently largest new energy aftermarket facility outside China with the launch of the NING SERVICE Experience Center in Riyadh. The new facility marks a significant expansion of CATL’s after-sales capabilities in the region and reinforces its role in supporting the Middle East’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy systems.

The opening coincides with Saudi Arabia’s accelerating electrification and decarbonization agenda under Vision 2030, alongside similar initiatives across the wider Middle East. Saudi Arabia has set an ambitious target to convert 30% of vehicles in Riyadh to electric by 2030, contributing to a broader plan to cut the capital’s emissions by 50%. Sustainability-driven policies are also advancing electrification in industrial and agricultural applications, including the adoption of electric forklifts and the use of green energy solutions on farms under the Saudi Green Initiative. Despite this momentum, the transition continues to face challenges such as entrenched oil dependence, rising electricity demand, harsh climate conditions, and gaps in charging and service infrastructure.

Purpose-Built to Support the Energy Transition

Designed to directly address these challenges, the Riyadh NING SERVICE Experience Center delivers comprehensive, full-lifecycle after-sales services while supporting local talent development and accelerating the deployment of advanced electrification and energy storage technologies.

Spanning more than 7,000 square meters, the facility integrates exhibition spaces, diagnostic and maintenance areas, refurbishment workshops, training rooms, and a customer lounge. Beyond functioning as a regional service hub, it also showcases CATL’s system-level expertise across electric mobility, energy storage, and intelligent electrification. At the same time, the center operates as a collaborative platform that connects diverse industry resources and promotes ecosystem-wide synergy.

Delivering End-to-End Lifecycle New Energy Services

Backed by CATL’s extensive R&D capabilities and advanced manufacturing expertise, the NING SERVICE Experience Center offers full-lifecycle services covering battery diagnostics, repair, maintenance, rework, training, recycling, aftermarket logistics, and warehousing. These services span more than seven major product categories—from passenger and commercial vehicles to energy storage systems—addressing a wide range of repair and service scenarios and setting a new regional standard for new energy aftermarket support.

By leveraging CATL’s advanced diagnostic technologies, repair know-how, and standardized service processes, the center helps enterprise customers minimize downtime, reduce maintenance expenses, and extend asset lifespan. This approach enhances long-term performance predictability and residual value while lowering total cost of ownership and ensuring reliable, cost-effective service for end users.

Strengthening Localization and Skills Development

The Riyadh facility plays a central role in CATL’s localized Middle East strategy, serving as a foundation for long-term value creation and workforce development. Through its dedicated training infrastructure, CATL is building after-sales and technical expertise in the new energy sector, supporting skilled employment and knowledge transfer across the region. Globally, NING SERVICE operates 10 training centers with a combined area of 2,300 square meters and has certified more than 9,700 new energy after-sales professionals through partnerships with vocational institutions.

In parallel with talent development, CATL is reinforcing its localization efforts by investing in local infrastructure and expanding ecosystem partnerships. The company is currently in discussions with leading regional players, including fuel network operators to introduce green electricity at gas stations, major infrastructure companies to electrify truck fleets, and energy companies to deploy integrated solar-plus-storage solutions.

These initiatives strengthen CATL’s local service capabilities and market confidence while enabling key partners to jointly accelerate the adoption of comprehensive new energy solutions across the Middle East.

“As a leading energy company in Saudi Arabia, we see tremendous opportunities in energy transformation. For instance, we plan to deploy solar-plus-storage solutions at our gas stations and electrify forklifts to reduce reliance on oil. We look forward to collaborating with top players like CATL to drive this transition forward,” said Ahmed Ibrahim,Assistant General Manager For Procurement of Al Drees, a leading provider of petroleum and logistics services in Saudi Arabia.

“The launch of CATL’s Riyadh aftermarket flagship underscores our shared commitment to driving the global energy transition. This milestone not only reflects the growing demand for sustainable solutions in Saudi Arabia but also embodies our collective vision for a cleaner, electrified future. As the investor behind the experience centre, we are confident that this partnership will accelerate electrification and strengthen the region’s role in advancing the energy transition.” said Lin Chaofan, CEO of F4S.

Part of CATL’s Global Service Network

The Riyadh opening further expands CATL’s global service network, which includes more than 1,200 professional service stations across 76 countries and 73 spare-parts warehouses worldwide. CATL holds the No. 1 global ranking for spare parts inventory with 100% genuine parts, supported by a total warehouse area exceeding 370,000 square meters. To date, NING SERVICE has supported more than six million electric vehicles worldwide, delivering professional after-sales services for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and energy storage customers.

Reinforcing a Long-Term Commitment to the Middle East

Bruce Li, President of Quality System, Aftermarket Business, Battery Management System Department at CATL, emphasized the strategic importance of the Riyadh center as a long-term investment in the region.

“Our decision to establish this center in Riyadh is not only a commercial choice, but a long-term commitment,” Li said. “As the first NING SERVICE Experience Center in the Middle East, it is more than a service facility. It is a new energy aftermarket ecosystem hub that brings together advanced technology, professional training, and industry collaboration—effectively connecting diverse stakeholders and resources to foster deeper synergy and sustainable growth across the region. Starting from here, CATL will continue to expand its after-sales service network across the Middle East, align closely with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, and support the region’s energy transition through a reliable, end-to-end service system.”

As the Middle East continues to accelerate electrification and energy storage adoption, CATL’s expanded NING SERVICE footprint is positioned to provide the technical reliability, localized expertise, and long-term partnerships critical to sustaining this transformation.
